Scripps Forum LGBT Wedding
Adam and Chris were a dream to work with! They had several cultural ideas they wanted to incorporate into their wedding day, along with a vision of colors, but no real direction in how to bring it all together. We sourced the perfect decor items to bring all of their heritage together, all while creating a pleasant, flowing experience for their guests, while keeping with the clean, modern look they wanted with just touches of geometric designs throughout. It all came together beautifully, as you can see from these images by Eder.
The color scheme was Green, Eggplant, and Gold, and we used it throughout, starting with their Paper Source invitations declaring double happiness in the year of the monkey. A mix of round and square tables through the venue created a fun look, and centerpieces varied from round to square bases to match. With pops of color in the loose flowers, and we hand placed fresh moss around the base of each to visually anchor them to the tables. Ordering a few compotes from Branches Flowers for the grooms tables kept the long space from feeling too uniform, and added a touch of softness. Adding a lounge with soft welcoming pillows and blankets allowed guests to mingle outdoors, gaze at the stars, and have a respite from dancing.
Table numbers were large framed photos of the couple, while vacationing to some of their favorite places. The hand calligraphy throughout the space keep the fonts similar. Rather than a structured meal, multiple stations were setup for a free flowing dinner time, for guests to mingle, visit the bar, and catch up with old and new friends.
Guest favors were their moscow mule mugs, with unlimited fills of the signature Blackberry Mule at the bar. Everyone loves copper mugs and guests were thrilled to keep them! After finding their seats at a string art seating chart the couple made.
Music was provided by a live band, and after the couple’s introduction accompanied by Lion Dancers, they kept the dance floor hopping throughout the evening.
Coffee and extraordinary desserts cakes topped off the evening with a sweet touch, before everyone headed back to the hotel to gather at the bar for a final nightcap.
We were so honored to work with these two, and wish them much love and happiness in their future together.
